Hotel Izulu awards sales and marketing contract to AHA

Ballito, 8 July 2011 – Award winning Hotel Izulu, the only five-star hotel in Ballito, has awarded the sales and marketing contract to African Hotels and Adventures (AHA), the tourism property management company of Tourvest’s Accommodation and Activities division.
The contract was awarded to AHA on the back of the company’s proven track record of managing a large portfolio of city hotels, lifestyle retreats and lodges as well as its sophisticated reservation systems and the large volumes of tourists and business travellers sourced by Tourvest’s travel agency and tour operator businesses.
In terms of the contract, Hotel Izulu becomes a preferred hotel of AHA in KwaZulu-Natal, especially within the King Shaka International Airport vicinity. Grant Pringle, managing director of Hotel Izulu, said the partnership represented a significant opportunity, not only for Hotel Izulu and AHA but also for tourism in the area. “It will boost sales and increase awareness of Hotel Izulu while also promoting KwaZulu Natal as a destination of choice to local and international markets,” he said.
We’ve noticed at local and international trade shows that the industry and public are attracted to our region due to our favourable year round climate and the many unique experiences the province offers such as its beaches, its wildlife and history.”
Tourvest Accommodation and Activities CEO Gary Elmes said that AHA was looking forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship with the hotel. “Hotel Izulu is a welcome addition to our portfolio and we are very happy to have established this partnership. Hotel Izulu is well known for its luxurious accommodation, state-of-the-art conferencing facilities, outstanding cuisine and spa. Its proximity to the new international airport and the burgeoning North Coast offers another world-class establishment to the many guests we source both locally and abroad.”
Hotel Izulu is a founding member of the Best of KZN Association – BoK – Destinations of Distinction, a proudly South African association, which was founded to actively promote a collection of stylish, unique and independently owned destinations in the KwaZulu-Natal region.
“The BoK collection is a perfect fit with the AHA portfolio and, with the acquisition of the sales and marketing contracts of Hotel Izulu and the Saint James on Venice, we are looking at further expanding our presence in the KwaZulu-Natal region,” said Elmes.
Other Best of KZN members include Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse; Duma Manzi Eco Lodge and Spa; Thanda Private Reserve and Fugitives Drift. For more information visit: www.bestofkzn.co.za. To see the full portfolio of properties managed by AHA visit: www.ahagroup.co.za.
